Description: EPREG UD 52 is a unidirectional prepreg developed for structures that need an excellent relation of weight and performance and a high water and weather proof.

EPREG UD 52 has been developed for the building of hulls and structures of boats and ships with two main aims:

-to improve the performance compared to traditional glass fibre;

-to remove environmental and health problems due to evaporation of styrene and polyester used in nautical building.

Main advantages are: very high mechanical properties (83 kg/mm^2) also against fatigue and shock; easy workability. It polymerizes without pressure. Autoclave or vacuum bag are not needed; Volatile Organic Content (VOC) is zero. It does not contain toxic material as semi manufactured or finished good; Excellent resistance against water, seawater, oil and hydrocarbons.

Specifications: EPREG UD 52 is obtained by impregnation with an epoxy resin system of a E-glass tissue in which 96% of fibres are oriented longitudinally and 4 % transversally. EPREG UD 52 has a thickness of 0,46mm, a weight of 780 gr/m2 and a width of 520mm. There are 50 linear metres of material on one roll. For special applications it is possible to produce rolls in different length. EPREG UD 52 is packed between two layers of film. This film is a barrier against humidity. Every roll is packed in a PE bag. EPREG UD 52 has to be stored at -20°C for six months at maximum. Strain-Stress curve against Steel. Strain-Elastic Energy curve against Steel.
